OK.... so to some (or maybe even most) this is going to come off as being incredibly corny. I wanted to speak of my childhood hero... and yes he is a wrestler... and at one point he had one of the most popular names in the world, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
From the foul language, to the middle fingers, to the beer guzzling, to the not giving a shit about anyone or anything. I wanted to be just like him! His confidence and charisma was addictive to me. It was always Stone cold this and Stone Cold that. He was also a favorite in my family. My mother and father used to watch wrestling along with me just to see Stone Cold do something crazy. He was extremely entertaining and even though it was just a show, Steve was being Steve. His success was derived from his own personality. He was playing himself. I found it inspiring. He was accepted for who he was. Nothing more, nothing less. Now who wouldn't want that?
All these years later I still find myself watching videos on Youtube when he would come out and blow the top off the area and send 40,000 people into a frenzy. I always found it fascinating to watch a single man grab so much attention so effortlessly. His acceptance was apparent. His popularity was unheard of. Especially for a "wrestler". The bottom line is I found a lot of me in him. Our personalities match in many ways. I will never stop watching Stone Cold Steve Austin. Thanks for the memories.
"and that's the bottom line"
